The demand for skilled workers has never been higher. Job placement rates directly from the program have been over 80% with starting hourly wages for machinists of $22 to $25, and annual salaries ranging from $32,000 to $50,000+.
Through a partnership between the GE Aerospace Foundation, North Shore Community College (NSCC), Essex North Shore Agricultural & Technical School, and MassHire-North Shore Career Center, participants in the training program can earn a National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS) certificate in CNC milling plus college credit, free of charge.
Classes, which will be held at Essex Tech and begin in August, are designed to start participants on a path to a well-paying, secure career. In addition, the program offers tracks for career changers and those looking to advance their career in manufacturing. Space is limited and applicants must attend an info session prior to registration.
