North Shore Bank has announced that CEO Kevin M. Tierney, Sr., will be honored, on behalf of the Bank, with the Amy Award at The Progeria Research Foundation’s Night of Wonder gala on April 20 at the Renaissance Waterfront Hotel in Boston.
The award is dedicated to Amy Foose (1969-1985), whose sunny personality and love of life continue to inspire all those who knew her. This award is given to those who have advanced the mission of The Progeria Research Foundation.
Progeria is a rare genetic disorder that causes accelerated aging in children. The Progeria Research Foundation is dedicated to finding a cure and supporting affected families.
The evening will bring together influential leaders, medical professionals, and philanthropists to raise awareness and funds for Progeria research.
Tierney, who has served as the driving force behind North Shore Bank’s community engagement initiatives, expressed gratitude for the recognition.
“It’s an honor to be acknowledged by The Progeria Research Foundation. We believe in the power of community and the impact we can make when we come together for a common cause. Supporting the vital work of The Progeria Research Foundation aligns with our values of making a positive difference in the lives of those we serve.”
Audrey Gordon, ESQ., President and Executive Director of The Progeria Research Foundation said of  Tierney and the Bank: “Since our founding in 1999, North Shore Bank and Kevin Tierney have been unwavering in their commitment to children with Progeria. And beyond their vital financial support, North Shore Bank employees enthusiastically participate in our events, lead fundraisers of their own like Jeans Day, and are truly passionate about helping us find the cure. Under Kevin’s leadership, this culture of giving back is a hallmark of North Shore Bank, whose reputation for philanthropy in the community is widespread and inspiring. Amy Foose was an extraordinary person, and the Amy Award is a fitting way to acknowledge our extraordinary partners in the quest for the cure. It is an honor for PRF to recognize Kevin and North Shore Bank with the 2024 Amy Award.”
North Shore Bank has a long-standing tradition of corporate social responsibility, and their involvement in initiatives such as the Progeria Research Foundation reflects the bank’s commitment to making a meaningful impact beyond the financial sector.
