Founded in 1936, Shore Country Day School has been a leader in educational excellence on the North Shore for nearly 90 years. Located in Beverly, Shore is an independent Pre-K through Grade 8 school dedicated to the mission of “providing an education that inspires a love of learning and encourages children to embrace academic challenge.” Shore seeks to build character, cultivate creativity, and value diversity while helping children become healthy, compassionate citizens of the world.
The school has a rich history, formed when the North Shore Country Day School, housed in the historic Winslow Building, merged with the Shore School of Beverly Farms. The Winslow Building was originally owned by Sidney Winslow, a prominent industrialist associated with the founding of Beverly’s historic United Shoe Machinery Corporation.
The school combines academic excellence with innovation, hands-on learning, arts, athletics, and community engagement. Small class sizes and strong teacher-student relationships allow Shore to foster confidence, compassion, leadership, and intellectual curiosity in every learner.
Today, Shore serves more than 300 students, representing over 40 communities. Set on a beautiful 17-acre campus, the school offers state-of-the-art facilities. Highlights include music and arts studios, a 375-seat theater, two innovation labs, five science laboratories, Harkness discussion tables, a digital media studio, nature learning environments, expansive athletic fields, two gymnasiums featuring a rock-climbing wall and Project Adventure ropes course, two playgrounds, and a certified nut-free scratch kitchen.
