Chamber member Laura Caton, partner and senior consultant at LeadShift, led an insightful “Lunch and Learn” on Tuesday.
Caton shared anecdotes, advice, and strategies to help leaders effectively approach difficult conversations and share tough feedback in a clear, authentic, and candid manner.
Caton told the audience of about 30 businesswomen to approach the conversation well-prepared, with a solid outline and plan for delivering the feedback. Expect a reaction, she said, and don’t rush to get through the talk just because it can be uncomfortable. Allow the recipient to process the message you delivered, and work on a solution together, she explained.
The lunch was sponsored by Harborlight Homes, a Beverly-based agency that manages and advocates for quality, service-enriched housing that is affordable and inclusive. Harborlight Homes’ Director of Philanthropy and Marketing Bethany Blake is a Thrive Steering Committee member.
Thrive’s next “Lunch and Learn” will be held on Wednesday, February 21 from 11:30 to 1 p.m.. at the Chamber office. Marcel Quiroga, the CEO of TQM Wealth Partners, will share important tips and advice for managing one’s financial health.
