Gloucester, MA – Hammond Castle Museum is proud to announce that it has been recognized with a Tripadvisor Travelers’ Choice Award, marking the fourth consecutive year the Museum has received this honor. This distinction places the Museum among the top 10% of attractions worldwide, based on consistent five-star reviews and ratings from guests over the past 12 months.
Each year, Tripadvisor celebrates traveler-favorite destinations that offer exceptional service and memorable experiences. Unlike traditional industry accolades, Travelers’ Choice Awards are based solely on authentic feedback from millions of travelers around the globe.
This milestone comes during an exciting period of growth and innovation at Hammond Castle Museum. Over the past several seasons, the Museum has evolved into a dynamic STEAM institution, integrating science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics into its exhibitions and programming. With a vibrant new energy, the Museum has been attracting first-time visitors daily, while continuing to welcome loyal returning guests.
The Tripadvisor honor also joins a trio of recent accolades from Northshore Magazine’s Best of the North Shore (BONS) Awards, where the Museum was named a Reader’s Choice winner in three categories, including Best Museum.
“We are deeply honored to receive the Travelers’ Choice Award for the fourth year in a row,” said Linda Harvey, Executive Director. “This recognition speaks to the incredible work of our team, our commitment to innovation, and the powerful connections we’re building with our visitors every day.”
Hammond Castle Museum, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization listed on the National Register of Historic Places, stands as a testament to the ingenuity and legacy of John Hays Hammond Jr., renowned as “The Father of Radio Control.” Built from 1926 to 1929 and incorporated as a museum in 1930, the castle served as Hammond’s residence and laboratory, showcasing his pioneering work in radio control and military technology, including guided torpedoes. The Museum features a collection of Hammond’s patents and the only surviving mural by American Artist and Illustrator Eric Pape. As a STEAM organization, Hammond Castle Museum combines its historic significance as a house museum and lapidarium, highlighting works of stone and marble. Throughout the year, the Museum offers guided tours, educational programs, and a diverse array of cultural events. Hammond Castle Museum is also available for private event rentals.
