David Eidle named Senior Vice President, Commercial Banking Center Manager at Rockland Trust

Peabody, MA – Rockland Trust has appointed David Eidle as Senior Vice President, Commercial Banking Center Manager for the Peabody office. In this role, Eidle will be leading a team of commercial bankers to expand the Bank’s commercial and industrial (C&I) business north of Boston.

Eidle brings nearly four decades of commercial banking and operations experience to Rockland Trust. Most recently, he served as SVP, Massachusetts Head of Business Banking for M&T Bank (formerly People’s United Bank) where he oversaw and managed a team of Relationship Managers and Team Leaders. Under Eidle’s leadership, M&T’s Small Business Administration (SBA) lending grew from ranking #44 in Massachusetts to #8 in one year, including the #1 SBA Lender to Minority Owned Businesses. Before this role, Eidle held various positions of increasing responsibility with national and regional banks throughout Massachusetts.

Eidle has been heavily involved in the North Shore community for several decades. He was recently awarded the 2023 Distinguished Leader Award by the North Shore Chamber of Commerce, where he has served on the Board of Directors since 2018. Eidle’s passion is mentoring young professionals in their career growth. He has been instrumental in organizing the Emerging Leaders program at the North Shore Chamber, which provides young professionals with growth opportunities through collaborative networking events, professional development, and financial education workshops.

Eidle earned his Bachelor of Science in Mathematics at Marist College. He lives in Middleton with his wife and two grown daughters. Eidle and his wife, Ivy, established and run the David W. Eidle Jr. Memorial Scholarship Fund, in honor of their late son David who passed away unexpectedly in July 2022. These funds will be awarded as annual college scholarships to local deserving scholars/athletes who exemplify the qualities, characteristics, and cornerstones that David lived his life by.
