MA Small Business Administration

Dear Small Business, Friends and Partners,

Please be advised that all SBA in-person programming, including the Annual Massachusetts Small Business Week Awards Luncheon with SCORE have been temporarily suspended until further notice.

The Economic Injury Disaster Loan program has been activated statewide.

If you are considering applying for the SBA Disaster loan, we urge you to submit an application online right away. Applications are reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis and it costs nothing for you to apply.

If you get approved, you do not need to take the loan. The most important thing right now is to submit an application ASAP because it normally takes 3-4 weeks to get funded without delays.

Please visit the SBA's Disaster guidance web page: www.sba.gov/disaster

People are out of work. Schools are canceled. Restaurants are closed.

Rest assured, however, that your hometown journalists at The Salem News are hard at work to provide you with reliable, timely information during this time of crisis. We, like you, are dealing with a public health and economic crisis – the dimensions of which we have never experienced before. Despite the challenges, The Salem News remains firmly committed to delivering your news in print and online.

We have a responsibility to you - especially in times of emergency - to provide news that is verified, accurate and relevant. This is a commitment that we take seriously. In the interest of caution and safety, newsroom staff and other employees are working from home whenever possible, with the exception of those necessary for the production and distribution of the newspaper.

KINGS Entertainment and Dining

To Our Loyal Guests and Supporters.

We have been so fortunate since we opened our doors in 2003, to build a business by creating special moments of fun, celebration, and connection. Connecting people, in fact, is our passion and purpose and it's what drives over 800 incredible employees at Kings to do what we do in our 11 locations. As COVID-19 has spread through our country, it has become very clear that social distancing is the appropriate measure to take and, as a result, we cannot currently fulfill our purpose as we’ve temporarily paused service in all locations.

We’re honored to have received an outpouring from our community about how they can help.  If you share our optimistic vision for a late spring and summer of reconnecting with one another over food and fun, we’d like to ask that you consider purchasing a gift card from our online store or booking your upcoming event with us today. Every dollar you spend on gift cards or event deposits now will help us support our team members who are currently facing a lot of uncertainty and fear. We are a company that prides ourselves on supporting our community, in fact it's been part of our mission since day one. Today, we’re asking our community if they would honor us with the kindness of returning the favor by investing in your future fun today to help our people get through a difficult time.

We can’t thank you enough for your support and, if you’re willing, please help us spread the message, we have posted on social media if you’d like to share: Facebook Instagram and LinkedIn

You can pick up your gift cards here or book your future party here.

Whitney Law Group

Whitney Law Group is a law firm based on the North Shore specializing in employment law. We are actively assisting clients - especially small to mid-sized businesses - in complying with the variety of state and federal employment laws while making difficult decisions about how to manage their workforce during this unprecedented COVID-19 emergency. Many questions have arisen concerning lay-offs, potential furloughs, salary and hours reductions, interplay with unemployment insurance, workers compensation, etc. In addition, we are assisting companies in dealing with leaves of absences, the ability to compel employees to stay away from work, how to deal with symptomatic employees, etc.

There are many overlapping medical, privacy, disability, and other issues that make navigating these times very challenging, especially for small business owners who may not have much formal HR training. In some cases, we are assisting with severance agreements, interpretation of contacts, and policy amendments in providing virus-related assistance. Please visit www.whitneylawgroup.com for more information and to book an initial consultation phone call.
