Topsfield Fair, “America’s Oldest Fair,” has received a Up-Stand Family Friendly Award for its commitment to creating an accessible environment for all visitors.

Only 11 such awards are distributed each year. The Topsfield Fair is the only organization in New England that received an Up-Stand Family-Friendly Award in 2023.

Up-Stand’s annual Family-Friendly Awards are designed to celebrate accessibility and change norms around family-friendliness. The aim of the awards are to recognize outstanding efforts to improve access for children and their caretakers, advance awareness about how to accommodate families, encourage high standards of accessibility in the service industry, and provide families with a guide to support these providers and ask for these accommodations elsewhere.

“We work hard every year to make the Topsfield Fair as accessible as possible for anyone that wants to attend,” said James O’Brien, general manager of the Topsfield Fair. “We appreciate that Up-Stand has recognized our efforts with this award.”

Winners are selected based on demonstrating innovation, creativity, and leadership, represent Up-Stand’s mission, and make effective use of available resources.
