The Northshoremen Barbershop Chorus, directed by Billy Carleton, have demonstrated a love for music and their community for more than 75 years.
This award-winning chorus boasts a unique blend of music, which draws from both past and present influences. The organization showcases a wealth of musical and artistic knowledge, a strength which has allowed them to win numerous honors, including various championships both recently and throughout their history. Most notably, the chorus was named the Patriot Division Small Chorus Champions in 2021. At a division chorus competition in Hyannis, Mass., they were awarded “Most Improved Chorus Award” in 2019 and 2023. This multifaceted organization continues to grow their legacy and promote artistic excellence, as exemplified by their recent win at a division competition in Cape Cod, having earned their highest score in more than 25 years.
The accomplished group utilizes their talents for greater good by hosting free concerts to benefit local charities while also supporting music education programs in local public schools. The group also is known for hosting concerts to fund donations to noteworthy organizations such as Beverly Bootstraps and the Northeast Animal Shelter.
The Northshoremen invite all men who love to sing to join their rehearsals every Wednesday night from 7 to 9 p.m. at All Saints Episcopal Church, 46 Cherry St, Danvers.
